The problems to be noted of vacuum insulation panels in the building construction process

Dec 20,2024

Vacuum insulation panels are thermal insulation products made of inorganic materials, with excellent insulation performance and A-level fire resistance, which can solve energy-saving and fire-prevention problems.

Vacuum insulation panels are thermal insulation products made of inorganic materials, with excellent insulation performance and A-level fire resistance, which can solve energy-saving and fire-prevention problems. The system is safe and durable. In the context of increasingly high energy-saving standards, compared with some traditional insulation materials, insulation panels are very thin, which is conducive to construction and increases certain safety.

When it comes to construction, many people want to know what problems vacuum insulation panels will encounter during construction and how to avoid and solve them. We have compiled a series of common questions:

1. Can construction be carried out on rainy days(During outdoor construction)?

No. Rainwater may wash away the adhesive and reduce its bonding strength. Pay attention to weather conditions before construction, effective covering measures should be taken and protective measures should be taken in case of sudden rain during construction.

2. Is there a temperature requirement for construction?

Yes, the ambient air temperature should not be lower than 0 ° C, the average temperature should not be lower than 5 ° C, and it should not be higher than 35 ° C. If it is in cold and humid climate conditions, the drying time should also be appropriately extended. Due to the easy hardening and drying of the surface of new coatings, protective measures are usually required to ensure complete curing throughout the entire thickness, especially at temperatures below 5 ° C which may slow down or stop the polymer film-forming of adhesive and may hinder proper coating maintenance.

3. Can vacuum insulation panels be thrown during transportation?

No. The insulation effect of the vacuum insulation panels is related to the vacuum degree. If thrown, dropped, or heavily pressed, it is likely to encounter sharp objects or bends, causing the vacuum to be lost and affecting the insulation effect. Therefore, these behaviors should be avoided during the construction process.

4. During the construction process, it was found that the vacuum insulation panel was a bit large. Can it be cut?

No.  It is not allowed to cut the vacuum insulation panels, for the same reason, it will destroy the vacuum. Vacuum insulation panels can be made to custom sizes and are pre-designed through layout before being installed on the wall. As long as the design is carried out during construction, there will be no cutting issues during the pasting process.
